The City of Plymouth celebrated the retirement of a long-time public servant on Tuesday.
Mary Young worked as a dispatcher for nearly 40 years with the Plymouth Police Department. Young worked with Plymouth Police Chief Dave Bacon as an IDACS coordinator – which is the database for stolen items, drivers licenses, and license plates.

Students and parents interested in taking Dual Credit classes will have a chance to learn more about the process.
Plymouth High School partners with Ivy Tech Community College to offer more than 30 Dual Credit Courses. The school corporation has indicated in the past that students signing-up for the classes will see a 1/3 letter grade increase.
A group of volunteers will continue reminding Plymouth residents to keep hazardous materials out of stormwater drains.
Members of the Boy Scouts of American told the Plymouth Board of Public Works this week they will be placing small medallions on the stormwater inlet grates. The project is designed to help residents understand that chemicals mixed into stormwater runoff can affect lakes, streams, and even drinking water.

A Plymouth man is in custody after police allege he stabbed another man multiple times, Sunday evening.
Officers were called to the 500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue in Plymouth for a fight.
Upgrades will continue to sidewalks and intersections in Plymouth.
The City’s Board of Public Works reviewed a proposal to continue making sidewalks accessible to each of its residents. Upgrades to the sidewalks are being carried out as part of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The school corporation announced last week they are adding two manufacturing and logistics courses.
The Plymouth Common Council is looking to generate dollars to help complete a few public works projects.
Plymouth Mayor Mark Senter will again once be hosting the National Day of Prayer breakfast.
Additional information will be released by the Mayor’s office in the near future, but Senter says the prayer breakfast will be held on May 7th of this year.
The Plymouth man shot by police in December is now facing a few felony charges.
34-year-old Lane Dodson was shot by police in the parking lot of the K-Mart in Plymouth on December 29th. That’s after a state trooper began questioning him about an earlier battery call they suspected he was involved with.

Plymouth police made several arrests after a search warrant was executed Thursday afternoon.

A semi-trailer owned by a Plymouth company was involved in an accident along I-94 at the Porter exit.
According to a release from the Indiana State Police, a 2006 Chevrolet pickup drive by 34-year-old Nicholas Heflin moved from the right to the center lane in front of the semi, owned by Gundlach and Sons out of Plymouth.
