Plymouth Council Hears Golf Cart Ordinance on First Read, Will Take Effect on January 1, 2025 if Formally Passed

The Plymouth Common Council heard Ordinance No. 2024-2228 An Ordinance to Amend the Code of Ordinances of the City of Plymouth Concerning Use of Golf Carts on Streets and Alleys on first read. The ordinance, if passed, will take full effect on January 1, 2025 which will include a registration requirement, fees for violations including impounding the vehicle on the fourth offense, and a 36 inch or taller height restriction that applies to passengers. Adult passengers will also not be allowed to hold passengers in their laps; all passengers must be seated.

Bourbon Town Council Hears Municipal Water Utility, Preliminary Rate Analysis Public Hearing February 14

The Bourbon Town Council heard the Preliminary Rate Analysis on the Municipal Water Utility during their regular meeting in January.  The Council adopted Bond Ordinance 2023-1 to authorize borrowing funds on first, second and third read. The Council adopted Rate Ordinance 2023-2 on first read; pending final adoption at a public hearing scheduled for Tuesday, February 14 at 6 p.m. Adopting the Bond Ordinance simply started the rest of the process and did not obligate the Town of Bourbon to a certain rate or loan amount. The Rate Ordinance had to be approved on first reading in order to advertise and hold the public hearing.
