Medaryville Woman Arrested after Accident

A Medaryville woman was arrested on Tuesday night after reportedly swerving to miss a deer and going off the road while she was driving under the influence.

According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, 24-year-old Alexandria Burns and passenger Melvin R. Taylor, of Medaryville, were on State Road 106 and Plymouth-Goshen Trail in Marshall County when a deer ran out in the roadway. Burns swerved to miss the deer and her vehicle ran off the highway and rolled over, as accounted in the report.

Police say a Taylor suffered a broken collar bone in the accident.

Burns was arrested and booked into the Marshall County Jail on a preliminary felony charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing serious bodily injury.

Inmates Assist with Sandbag Needs in Marshall County

Inmates at the Marshall County Jail assisted community members in need of sandbags on Tuesday.

Marshall County Sheriff Matt Hassel and officers transported inmates to the Marshall County Highway Department where the trustees worked to fill hundreds of sandbags for area residents to deter the threat of flooding. The inmates were under the supervision of Marshall County Community Corrections Field Officers.

Plymouth Man Arrested after Speeding from Police

A Plymouth man was arrested early Saturday morning after speeding on U.S. 30 in Marshall County.

Marshall County police say 29-year-old Kyle Wickens was traveling at 97 mph near Gumwood Road when an officer initiated a traffic stop. The officer was trying to catch up to Wickens’ vehicle but Wickens reportedly increased his speed. According to the report, the officer traveled in excess of 125 mph close to King Road.

Suspected Drug Dealers Arrested in Marshall County

Three suspected drug dealers were arrested in Marshall County Thursday morning in what police are calling a warrant sweep.

Officers with the Indiana State Police Bremen Post, Indiana State Police Drug Enforcement Section and Indiana State Police ERT executed a search warrant at a home in the 3,000 block of 18 B Road in Tippecanoe there they allegedly found numerous guns, prescription pills, and suspected methamphetamine. Gabriel Geldner, 41, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for dealing in a schedule IV controlled substance, a Level 5 felony. The case information has been forwarded to the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office for review of additional charges. He is being held in the Marshall County Jail with a $40,000 bond.  Continue reading

Two Arrested on Warrants for Dealing Drugs

Plymouth Police officers arrested two people in separate incidents who were wanted for dealing drugs.

On Monday, Jan. 8, officers stopped 29-year-old Wayne Austin Hardesty, of Grovertown, who was reportedly speeding and found that he had an active warrant for two counts of dealing in a schedule III drug. He was booked in the Marshall County Jail on those charges with a cash bond of $10,005.

Plymouth Man Arrested after Accident

A Plymouth man was taken into custody Wednesday night after reportedly driving under the influence and causing an accident.

According to Plymouth police, Dustin Bradfield, 28, lost control of his vehicle and drove into the side of another vehicle at the entrance of Centennial Park. Police reportedly found that Bradfield was intoxicated at the time of the accident and tested three times the legal limit.

Two Arrested for Theft, Drugs in Separate Incidents

Plymouth Police Department officers arrested two people on Tuesday after separate shoplifting incidents were reported.

Police say 22-year-old Jay E. Johnson, Jr., of Walkerton, took items from Walmart and ran from the store. The officer reportedly saw him trying to hide behind vehicles in the parking lot, but he was eventually detained. Officers reportedly found Johnson, Jr. to be in possession of methamphetamine. He was booked into the Marshall County Jail on preliminary charges of theft and possession methamphetamine. He has a cash bond of $3,005.
