Plymouth School Board Approves End-of-Year Items, Retirement Plan Documents

The Plymouth School Board took steps last week to close out 2019 and get ready for 2020. Board members passed a resolution authorizing Treasurer Kandi Tinkey to pre-write checks and make the normal transfers among funds, to process invoices between now and the end of the year. They also scheduled their first meeting in 2020 for Tuesday, January 7 at 7:00 p.m.

Plymouth School Board Adopts 2020 Budget

The Plymouth Community School Corporation’s 2020 budget was adopted during Tuesday’s school board meeting. It calls for a total budget of more than $36 million. Just over $20 million of that is the Education Fund, with an Operations Fund of more than $9 million. Business Manager Kandi Tinkey said she anticipates the total tax rate to be about 1.16 percent, up from just over 1.1 percent.

Plymouth School Board Approves 2018-2019 School Nurse Agreement

The Plymouth Community School Corporation will be paying a bit more for school nurses this school year. Under an agreement approved by the school board last week, St. Joseph Regional Medical Center will provide seven registered nurses and two health aides for a cost of nearly $367,000. That’s over $1,700 more than what the school corporation paid last year.
