The November General Election is just a few days away. If you can’t make it to the polls on Election Day, there are a few opportunities for you to vote early to ensure your vote counts.
The staff at the Marshall County Clerk’s Office is busy collecting absentee ballots for the November General Election.
The November General Election is three weeks away, but hundreds of Marshall County voters have already cast their ballots. As of Monday afternoon, 480 in-person absentee ballots had been cast, according to Clerk Deb VanDeMark. She says 143 of those were cast on the first day of early voting last Wednesday.
The members of the Marshall County Election Board were updated on early voting Wednesday morning. As of Wednesday morning, the clerk’s office recorded 135 travel board votes, 90 mail-in ballots and 428 walk-in votes. In the May Primary Election in 2016, there were over 1,100 total votes, but it was noted that it was a Presidential Election. The members are hoping that more voters turn out at the polls on Tuesday, May 8.
With Primary Election Day still over two weeks away, many voters are choosing to cast their ballots early. The Marshall County Clerk’s Office says 167 in-person absentee ballots had been cast as of Friday afternoon. Another 37 people had voted by mail.
