Culver School Board Approves OCRA Sub Agreement for Cavalier Sports Park

The Culver School Board approved an agreement related to the development of the Cavalier Sports Park Monday. Superintendent Karen Shuman says the project is part of Culver’s Stellar Community Designation. “They’re putting three soccer fields, a concession stand with restrooms, and a small toddler park, and then expanding the parking,” she told board members.

Culver Town Council to Consider Rezoning for Culver Meadows Development

The Culver Town Council will consider the next step for the proposed Culver Meadows development. It would consist of about 25 single family homes and townhouses, as well as a new gas station in the area of State Road 10 and State Road 17. During tonight’s meeting, council members will consider an ordinance on second and third reading to rezone the property to a Planned Unit Development.

Culver Town Council Receives Stellar Update as Site Visit Approaches

Town administrators and community members in Culver have been preparing for the upcoming Stellar Communities Designation Program site visit. On Wednesday evening, the Culver Town Council received an update about what has happened so far and what is yet to come.

Culver is one of three finalists in District 2 of the program, competing to be designated as a Stellar Community. In an effort to ensure they are aptly prepared, the Stellar Committee has been meeting on Tuesdays during the month of September. Culver Town Council to Hold Public Hearing at Meeting Tonight

The Culver Town Council is scheduled to hold a public hearing and the first reading for their proposed 2018 budget. Council members will also receive an update on the Stellar Communities Designation Program plan when they meet tonight at 6:30 p.m. EDT in Culver Town Hall.

Culver School Board to Consider Support of Cavalier Park Sports Center

One of Culver’s proposed Stellar Communities projects will be discussed tonight by the Culver School Board. Board members will consider a resolution formally expressing the school corporation’s support of the Cavalier Park project. The plan is to construct a sports center on a piece of the corporation’s land that’s currently being used as a youth soccer field.

Culver Stellar Communities Committee Projects Gaining Community Support

The Culver Stellar Communities Committee recently chose a lighter, quicker and cheaper project for this year’s Stellar Community application and the project is gaining support of community entities.

As a lighter, quicker and cheaper project, the committee chose the installation of recycled plastic benches and a story walk featuring Culver history along a proposed new bike trail in the Culver Town Park. It is the hope of the committee to build partnerships as part of the application process.
