When the Bremen School Board met last Monday, members held the second reading over a policy detailing specific guidelines for board member and staff communication.
Superintendent Dr. Jim White said the policy was developed in order for there to be a delineated procedure to follow when board members and staff talk to each other. Some facilities at Bremen Public Schools could potentially see some community use in 2018, according to Superintendent Dr. Jim White.
Back in October, Bremen Schools participated in a ‘Drive 4 Ur School’ fundraising event sponsored by Auto Park Ford.
This week, more than 300 Bremen students had screenings to check for pediatric heart conditions through the efforts of the Play for Jake Foundation.
The Bremen School Board held a special session on Monday to approve their master teacher contract prior the November 15th deadline set by the Indiana Education Employment Relation Board.
Some local school corporations saw their letter grades improve slightly, while others remained flat. On Wednesday, the Indiana State Board of Education finalized the A-to-F grades for each of the state’s school corporations for the 2016-2017 school year.
Tomorrow members of Marshall County not only have a chance to test-drive a new set of wheels for free, but they can also help assist a school corporation within the community simultaneously.
This November, Indiana students will be taking part in a mock election. But before that, some of them will have the chance to play an active role in a gubernatorial town hall meeting.
Those interested in running for a school board seat in Marshall County have a few more weeks to file their paperwork with the County Clerk’s Office. Candidates have until Friday, August 26 at noon to register, according to Marshall County Clerk Debbie VanDeMark.
School corporations in Marshall County are making the grade, according to the A through F accountability standards approved today by the State Board of Education. The scores reflect changes fast-tracked through the Indiana General Assembly to hold corporations harmless due to last year’s significant drop in ISTEP+ scores.
