Local Fire Departments Team Up to Battle House Fire Near Tippecanoe Thursday Morning
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department Dispatch Center confirmed that a fire broke out at a home in the 4000 block of 7B Road early Thursday morning. Tippecanoe Fire Firefighters were dispatched to the scene around 8:25 a.m.
The Argos, Bourbon and Mentone Fire Departments assisted with the incident. Mentone PD stated that their fire department responded to the call at 8:30 a.m. and cleared the scene a few hours later around 11 a.m. Continue reading
Bourbon Man Dies in Farm Equipment Accident
Marshall County emergency responders were called to a serious farming incident on Friday evening.
According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, county deputies along with the fire department, EMS and officers from the Town of Bourbon were called to a farm in the 3500 block of 9B Road in Bourbon. When they arrived, they found that Lester G. Sellers died after apparent injuries sustain after a tractor slipped a gear and rolled over him as he was working on the tractor, according to the release.
Saturday Morning Collision Resulted in Vehicle Rolling, Injuries Sustained
Marshall County Dispatch received a report of a 2 vehicle collision in the 100-block of Lincoln Highway and Fir Rd in Bourbon around 11 a.m. on Saturday. Initial information included that one vehicle had rolled over and there were injuries at the scene.
According to the police report, at the scene it was found that a 2007 Subaru driven by 19-year-old Dawson Kratzchmar, of Plymouth, was traveling north on Fir Road when at Lincoln Highway he failed to yield the right-of-way at the intersection and was struck by a 1992 Oldsmobile driven by 58-year-old Lorre Osburn, of Bourbon. Osburn was driving west on Lincoln Highway approaching Fir Road. When he struck the passenger side of the 2007 Subaru it caused the vehicle to roll and both vehicles then traveled northwest off the roadway. Continue reading
House Fire under Investigation
Plymouth fire crews battled a house fire Thursday afternoon.
Plymouth Fire Chief Rod Miller told MAX 98.3 FM News that crews were called to 10548 King Road just before 2:30 p.m. The cause and origin of the fire will be determined by an investigation by the Indiana State Fire Marshal. However, Miller said the incident does not seem suspicious in nature.
