Updated plans for the new Lincoln Junior High School building were presented to the Plymouth School Board Tuesday.
Design work continues for a new Lincoln Junior High School. “The site layout, again, looks pretty solid,” Plymouth School Superintendent Andy Hartley told the school board Tuesday. “The major intent with that was to get traffic off the streets with drop-off and pickup. So that will flow through off of the front of the old Lincoln, if you will, and kind of run through a lane and drop off there on the west side, and bus parking will be in the back.”
When the Triton School Board met last Monday, board members and the public were able to view some preliminary drawings and plans for the proposed building projects.
Architect Ben Sanchez of Barton-Coe-Vilaama presented the board with updates about different projects including plans for the high school roof repairs and designs for a new gymnasium. Superintendent Donna Burroughs said representatives from the Fort-Wayne based architecture and engineering firm were there to receive feedback before they undertake the school projects. The Lincoln Junior High School building project has the Plymouth Community School Corporation borrowing money from its Rainy Day Fund. Superintendent Andy Hartley told the school board Tuesday that some architect’s bills will soon be due to Barton-Coe-Vilamaa, but the bonds to pay for the project won’t be sold for another couple months.
The Lincoln Junior High School building project continues to move forward.
The Plymouth School Board will consider the appointment of a new assistant superintendent tonight. The job became open last month, when Andrew Hartley was promoted to superintendent.
