Efforts to digitize documents going back to 1836 are continuing in Marshall County. Recorder Marlene Mahler asked the County Commissioners Monday to approve a contract with Fidlar Technologies to scan the deed books dating back as far as the county’s founding in 1836 up through 1960, as well as the deed index books through 1957. Plymouth Officials Cut Ribbon for Freedom Park

IMG_5957Plymouth residents of all ages and abilities now have a playground to enjoy. City officials cut the ribbon for Freedom Park at Packard Woods last evening. Mayor Mark Senter says it’s a great addition to the city.

“It’s all inclusive. Any child can come and play, whether they’re in a wheelchair or if they are mentally handicapped. They can still have a blast here, along with their friends.” Continue reading

Ancilla College Encourages Prospective Students to Visit

Ancilla-We Believe_optProspective college students and their parents can get their questions about college in general and Ancilla College in particular answered during an upcoming event. The school is hosting an Access Ancilla Day on Thursday, Oct. 23. Vice President for Admissions Eric Wignall says the event gets under way at noon EDT on the Donaldson campus. He says it’s open to all ages but especially encourages high school juniors and seniors and their parents to drop by for a visit. Campus tours will be offered, and officials will be on hand to answer questions about financial aid. Continue reading

Plymouth Man Jailed in Starke County Beating

A Plymouth man faces a pair of felony offenses in Starke County following the recent robbery and beating of an elderly Knox man. An officer from the Starke County Sheriff’s Office was called to the IU Health Starke Hospital emergency room Wednesday, Oct. 7 after Sisco Wireman was brought in after an apparent assault. The people who drove him to the hospital said a fight had taken place at a home in the 100 block of East 500 South. Continue reading
