Culver Town Council Brings Budget to First Reading

The Culver Town Council has taken a step toward adopting their 2016 budget.

During last night’s meeting, a public hearing was held to review the document that will determine expenditures for the next year. As things stand, Culver sees modest increases in spending for its police and fire department budgets. The biggest jump was a projected $100-thousand increase in EMS expenses.

Coroner Confirms Toddler’s Cause of Death

A Plymouth toddler who was unconscious when her mother brought her to a local hospital Friday morning died of blunt force trauma Saturday night at a Fort Wayne Hospital. A spokeswoman for the Allen County Coroner’s Office tells MAX 98.3 FM News 2-year-old Serenity Wilson’s death has been classified as a homicide. Marshall County Authorities Investigating Toddler’s Death

Authorities in Marshall County are investigating the death of a two-year-old girl. The child’s mother brought her to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth around 2:30 p.m. Friday. Police were notified because the youngster was unconscious with a serious head injury. The police report indicates older injuries were also visible on the child’s body. She was flown to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne due to the critical nature of her injuries. Continue reading

United Way Volunteers Set to Canvass Marshall County

Teams of United Way volunteers are set to canvass Marshall County in the coming days. They’re putting the campaign theme “Together We Can, Marshall County” into action by visiting retail businesses in Argos, Bourbon, Bremen, Culver and Plymouth. The goal for the 2015 campaign is $550,000. Officials say all of the money stays in Marshall County and is used to help build stronger communities. Continue reading
