Marshall County Unemployment Largely Unchanged

news-2The unemployment rate in Marshall has seen a modest uptick in the percentage of unemployed residents compared to the previous month.

According to the latest jobs figures, provided by the Starke County Economic Development Foundation, Marshall County is sitting in the bottom-third of the state with unemployment at 4-percent for December. That’s .4-percentage points below the statewide average of 4.4-percent, unemployment.

Marshall County Awaits Funding Source for Five-Year Road Plan

During this week’s Marshall County Commissioners meeting, the county’s Highway Department re-addressed the plan. Marshall County is currently operating on a two-year chip and seal plan that hopes to maintain road standards for the time being.
