Marshall County Council Considers Change to Clerical Pay in Salary Ordinance

The Marshall County Council reviewed a request from Marshall County Coroner John Grolich concerning starting pay for a clerical worker.

He asked to change the salary ordinance to lower starting pay for a clerical worker to $11.

After months of searching, a suitable and willing candidate for the position has additional, legal sources of income and required no more than $11 an hour for compensation.

Auditor Julie Fox recommended that the rate be changed across the board rather than for one position if the Council agreed to change it.

The council approved the salary ordinance amendment to reflect a pay rate of $11 up to $16 an hour for Marshall County clerical employees part-time, non-exempt.
