Linda Rippy was honored for her 29 years of service as executive director of the Marshall County Historical Society, Museum and Crossroads Center during the Marshall County Commissioners meeting Monday morning.

Commissioner Kevin Overmyer read aloud from a resolution in recognition of outstanding accomplishments and contributions for Linda Rippy.

“Whereas, Linda Rippy started her employment with Marshall County in 1992 as a clerk of the Marshall County Museum. Linda became the director of the Marshall County Museum in 1996 and has served Marshall County with distinction for 29 years through her work and leadership at Marshall County Museum,” read Commissioner Overmyer.

The resolution went on to say that under Rippy’s guidance and leadership, there has been an increase in visitors who tour the museum, view the exhibits, and participate in the activities and programs sponsored by the museum.

“Due to Linda’s exceptional leadership, the museum has become a must-visit for Marshall County residents, residents and historians throughout the State of Indiana, and historians from every state,” Overmyer said.

Rippy said that she was still going to be active with the museum, but as a volunteer.

Also during Monday’s meeting, the commissioners appointed Sandy Garrison as the new executive director of the Marshall County Historical Society, Museum and Crossroads Center.
