The Marshall County Commissioners received an update on the progress on acquiring a piece of property on Plum Street in Plymouth for use by the Maintenance Department.
Buildings and Grounds Maintenance Director Doug Masterson asked the commissioners in November to look into the property as a possible storage building for equipment for the maintenance department.
There has been a bit of a delay in approving the paperwork as one of the owners lives out of the country. County Attorney Jim Clevenger explained that the revised Power of Attorney was not acceptable by the title company as it needs to be signed by a specialized notary.
Commission President Kevin Overmyer asked Clevenger to write the owners a letter and explain that the documents need to be signed and the transaction complete by August 1. The offer will be taken off the table if nothing can be settled. Clevenger said he will draft a letter and have it sent to the three property owners.
