Two Plymouth School Board members took the oath of office Tuesday night to start their service to the school corporation and to the community.
Allison Shook is a returning board member, but was elected for her first term on the school board while Kurt Christiansen was elected as a school board member in the November General Election. Both were sworn into office by Notary Robin Davidson.
Following the oaths, Melissa Christiansen was elected President of the Plymouth School Board, Allison Shook was elected Vice President and Larry Pinkerton was elected Secretary. Additionally, Kandi Tinkey was retained as Corporation Treasurer and Wendy Haenes was appointed as Deputy Treasurer. Jeff Houin from Easterday Houin LLC was retained as the corporation’s legal counsel.
Allison Shook was appointed as Legislative Liaison, Melissa Christiansen was appointed as Negotiation Liaison, and they will also serve on the Strategic Plan Committee.
Board compensation is $2,000 and the board members will continue to meet on the first Tuesday of every month in 2021.
