Culver Town Council to Consider Proposal for Work on Economic Development

The Culver Town Council members are considering a proposal submitted by Cheryl Morphew from CRMorphew Consulting, LLC to continue to help with economic development projects in town.

Morphew met with the town council members in a two-hour work session earlier this month where she presented an overview of several topics.  Town Manager Jonathan Leist said her presentation included economic development issues in rural counties, business attraction and retention incentives, abatement schedules and processes, and site selection information.  She also stressed the importance of having shovel-ready properties or having buildings available for projects.

At their most recent meeting, the town council members were presented with a proposal to continue with her services, including establishing and economic development coalition and creating a vision and plan for the Town of Culver, but the council wanted more time to consider it.  The proposal would cover four months at a total cost of $7,500.
