Marshall County Council Approves Additional Appropriation for Highway Projects

The Marshall County Council members considered a $250,000 additional appropriation for highway projects this year.

Superintendent Jason Peters said several projects will be subcontracted to complete the road program.

Peters commented, “King Road from 10th to E&B plant, 11th from South Michigan to the railroad and Castle Drive from 11th to Lopine.  They seem pretty confident that those would be completed this year.”

E&B Paving would be the contractor for the King Road project and Walsh and Kelly will take care of 11th and Castle Drive.

The council members unanimously approved the request as presented.

They complimented the work done by the highway department and how Peters has been able to stretch out projects with the money available with innovative ideas.
