Argos Town Council Members Urge Habitat for Humanity Applications

With Habitat for Humanity housing planned in the Town of Argos, the Argos Town Council members are urging residents to see if they are eligible to be a homeowner in the program.

Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney told the council members that a grant was received for housing and more families who would like to live in Argos should consider applying.  The applicant must be first-time home buyer and qualify for a low-interest mortgage, among other criteria.

Argos Economic Development Director Mark VanderWeele said there is one application that looks like it may go through, but encourages more to look into the program.

Bids for the three proposed homes will be open in September.  Two are expected to be constructed on Yearick Street by the Argos Community School Corporation and another one on Grove Street.

Interested participants should contact the Argos Town Hall for more contact information.
