Marshall County Commissioners Request $50,000 in COVID-19 Funds

The Marshall County Council members considered a request by the commissioners on Monday morning to transfer $50,000 into a COVID-19 Pandemic 2020 fund.

Commission President Kevin Overmyer explained that the county is anticipated to be reimbursed for funds used in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.  About 1,200 N95 masks were purchased along with several gallons of hand sanitizer.  The commissioners and county council members previously donated $5,000 to the Marshall County Disaster Relief Fund through the United Way which was directed specifically to all food pantries in Marshall County.

The creation of the COVID-19 Pandemic 2020 fund will also help keep track of expenses incurred.

The Marshall County Council members approved the request with a unanimous vote.
