Marshall County Officials Approve Interlocal Agreement

As Marshall County officials prepare for next week’s presentations to state agencies in the Regional Stellar Communities Designation program, governing bodies are getting some paperwork complete before the trip to Indianapolis.

The Marshall County Commissioners and the Plymouth City Council members recently approved an interlocal agreement between those entities and the Marshall County Crossroads Regional Stellar Communities Initiative concerning plans within the Regional Development Plan.

According to Plymouth City Attorney Sean Surrisi, the document outlines how the communities would work together if the county is designated a Regional Stellar Community and who would be designated in a non-for-profit formed and bylaws for that organization.  It also outlines plans for after the four-year term of the Stellar designation, if awarded, to continue as a regional community.  The document includes wording where individual communities should continue to work toward obtaining grants for projects.
