Former Marshall County Commissioner Praised for Service

Mike Delp was praised for his work done while serving the county in his capacity as Marshall County Commissioner.

Delp (second from left in the photo) announced his resignation effective on Tuesday, Oct. 10 after three years in the seat.

On Monday morning, Marshall County Commission President Kevin Overmyer took time prior to the start of the regular meeting of the commissioners to publicly thank Delp for his service as a commissioner and his prior work as city councilman.  He wished Delp and his wife well in their future endeavors.

As a result of Delp’s resignation, the commission vice president position became vacant. Overmyer made a motion to appoint Commissioner Stan Klotz into that position which was seconded by Klotz and was approved unanimously.  Klotz was also voted to be the project manager on the Marshall County Courthouse clock tower project.

In a previous announcement, Marshall County Republican Chairman David Holmes noted that Republican Precinct Representatives will select Delp’s successor on Monday, Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. at the Marshall County Republican Headquarters at 117 Water Street in Plymouth.

Any interested candidates for the position should file a declaration of candidacy no later than 72 hours ahead of the caucus.  Those letters should be filed with the chairman by mailing them to David Holmes at 116 W. Plymouth Street in Bremen.  For more information, call 574-298-6398.
