Marshall County Highway Department crews continue to work through this year’s road program.
Highway Superintendent Jason Peters updated the county council members last week and the commissioners Monday morning.
“We’ll finish up our chip and seal Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. We’ve got five more miles to go. We plan to start paving to finish out our year on Thursday (Aug. 22) on 13th Road between State Road 17 to Peach/Muckshaw from 13th to 14th. The slash just means that if I feel we’ve progressively gotten done with the 13th Road project in time, we’ll move up and start on the next one. If not, we’ll probably move everything up to 3B Road ,” explained Peters.
The remainder of the Community Crossings projects should get underway this week.
“We look for the paving and milling and filling to start, weather permitting, on Aug. 21-22 on 11th Road, Aug. 23-24 on Dogwood, Aug. 20-22 on North Michigan, and Aug. 23-24 on 9B.”
Rieth Riley will have the projects on North Michigan from City Limits to Veteran’s Parkway and 9B from Union to the County Lines. Walsh and Kelly will complete the projects on 11th Road and Dogwood Road.
Peters added that road striping will begin within the next week.
