The Marshall County Commissioners will meet for the first time in 2019 today.
Newly-elected Commissioner Stan Klotz will take his seat on the board where the first order of business will be board reorganization and appointments.
The commissioners will consider a contract from Industrial Appraisal Company. The company would conduct an appraisal of all of the county-owned buildings and a modeling appraisal of office equipment at a cost of just over $6,800.
A contract for inmate medical services from Quality Correctional Care will also be considered. The contract includes one physician visit per week, one mental health care provider visit per week, a nursing staff that works 40 hours a week, one nurse administrator visit per week, and 24/7 telecommunication with a physician or mental health professional. The compensation will increase to an annual cost of $167,410 in monthly installments which is about a $14,000 increase from the current contract.
Two public hearings are scheduled which include one at 9 a.m. for the No Thru Trucks ordinance and another at 9:30 a.m. for a broadband pilot program.
Highway Supervisor Jason Peters will provide an update for the commissioners while Health Administrator Christine Stinson will request the submission of a lead testing grant application. Sheriff Matt Hassel will have an out-of-state training request. County Attorney Jim Clevenger will also provide a report.
The Marshall County Commissioners will meet at 8:30 a.m. today in the second floor meeting room in the Marshall County Building at 112 W. Jefferson Street in Plymouth.
