Bremen Town Council Approves Troyer Group Agreement

The Bremen Town Council members took action to move forward with the downtown revitalization project in 2020.

A Professional Planning Services agreement from The Troyer Group was submitted by Mike Reese for the project that includes new streets, sidewalks, curbs and lighting.  A $500,000 OCRA grant is being sought for the project.

INDOT has already earmarked $1.2 million for this project which includes lowering the streets 12 inches in the downtown area. Bremen Director of Operations Trend Weldy previously said that INDOT has come in and laid more asphalt than was milled off over the years so all of the curbing is gone. It’s caused flooding issues in all of the businesses.

Town Council President Michael Leman signed the necessary documents to keep the project going.

The council members also unanimously approved an ordinance on all three readings that would create a Downtown Planning fund in order to receive any money awarded toward the project.
