Town of Culver Opens Street Naming Contest

Culver Town Manager Jonathan Leist told the town council members last week about a street naming contest.

Residents, business owners, students, and visitors are encouraged to submit their best idea of a street name for the road leading to the Sand Hill Farm workforce housing development in Culver. There is an unnamed portion of road off of the main artery into the property off of Jefferson Street that provides an entrance to the first phase of the apartment complex.

Town officials ask that one entry is submitted per person. The contest ends on Wednesday, April 18, at 4 p.m. ET. Entries will be accepted in writing only by delivery to Town Hall at 200 E. Washington Street, or email townmanager@townofculver.org.

Suggestions could include the following suffixes: Street, Drive, Road, Court, Place, Parkway, or Lane. Officials ask that you avoid names too similar to existing roadways and include something unique to Culver.

A committee of town staff, elected officials, and residents will narrow down the nominations and the name will be chosen by vote in person and online at www.townofculver.org.
