Developer CMD Group presented a proposal to the Argos Town Council members last week to build homes in an empty subdivision in Argos.
According to Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney, the plans call for the construction of 12 homes on the 12 lots in the subdivision by the end of 2019.
The town council members provided support for the project, but the ultimate decision will come down to the Argos Redevelopment Commission as they are the owners of the land. If they choose to move forward, the redevelopment commission members will need to approve the town-owned land for the project. The proposal would go back to the town council if further incentives will be provided such as reduced tap fees.
Mullaney said they will meet soon to look at the proposal. The next regular meeting of the Argos Redevelopment Commission will be Tuesday, April 10 at the Argos Town Buiding at 6:30 p.m.
