Argos Town Council Considers Contract with Argos Community Development Corporation

When Argos Town Council members met last week, they heard a proposal from the Argos Community Development Corporation regarding future real estate development.

The Argos Community Development Corporation proposed entering into a 5-year contract worth $200,000 to build houses within the town. Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney said the Development Corporation plans to begin construction at the Colonial Estates property and then they will expand to other parts of the town.

The town council permitted the Argos Community Development Corporation to work with Town Attorney Derek Jones to create a contract detailing all the specifics of the agreement between the organization and the town. Mullaney said it will be similar to the contract the town has with the Marshall County Economic Development Corporation.

Once the contract is drawn up, it will be officially considered at a future town council meeting.
