Argos Town Council Continues Conversation Over Development at Colonial Estates

Argos officials continue to seek ways to spur development in the town. Back in April, the town approved the purchase of Colonial Estates for residential development.

When the Argos Town Council members met in mid-November, they continued their discussion with Attorney Derek Jones about options for potential housing development and infrastructure installation in the area.

Jones explained that right now, town representatives are still in the preliminary stages of planning, “Colonial Estates has some vacant lots that are owned by the Argos Redevelopment Commission and there’s basically just an interest from the Redevelopment Commission’s perspective and I guess the town council as well, to get some housing going out there.” Continue reading

New Project Elements Revealed During Plymouth Redevelopment Commission Meeting

The Plymouth Redevelopment Commission provided a financial and structural overview of the Aquatic Center Project that will be built adjacent to the LifePlex when they met earlier this week. City Attorney Sean Surrisi explained that while 2.2 million dollars of grant money received through the Regional Cities Initiative will be used for the Aquatic Center, new funds have become available that will allow for more structures to be constructed with this project. Argos Requests Assistance While Fiber Optic Upgrades Are Completed

argos-logoThe Town of Argos is planning better access to broadband for its businesses and residents, but is requesting a bit of financial assistance.

Jim Burroughs is the Utility, Park, and Street Superintendent for the Town. He says the community in the southern portion of Marshall County has been working to address a dead space for high-speed internet connectivity.
