The Marshall County Commissioners are looking for more members to sit on the Shady Rest Home Committee. The commissioners decided to form a committee to determine what uses could fill the Shady Rest Home facility once it is handed back to the county on Aug. 1. The Bowen Center made the decision to cease operations there after some of the new regulations didn’t fit the facility’s needs.
County Council President Judy Stone has agreed to be a part of the committee as well as Commissioner Kurt Garner, Plymouth City Council member Bill Walters, Veteran’s Service Officer Pam Betz, Ward Byers from Marshall County Community Corrections, and community member Dennis Beville.
If any Marshall County resident would like to help come up with ideas for an occupant for the Shady Rest Home or a use, call one of the Marshall County Commissioners or submit your name at the county auditor’s office.
The commissioners hope to finalize the list at their next meeting on July 3.
