Marshall County community members are gathering in February to launch a series of “Housing Matters” meetings. United Way will host community engagement sessions over lunch on Thursday, February 8 and Thursday, February 22, from noon to 2 p.m. ET at the Marshall County Philanthropy Center, 2680 Miller Drive, Suite 120, Plymouth.

Plymouth BOW, City Council to Meet Tonight

The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members plan on opening bids for surface treatment spring projects and street and sidewalk projects when they meet tonight. The board members will also consider a conditional offer of employment for a paramedic position and a request to release partial retainage funds for Kokosing Industrial for work done on the wastewater treatment facility.

The board will meet at 6 p.m. tonight followed by the Plymouth City Council meeting.

Taste of Marshall County Planned for Aug. 12

The kick-off event for the 2017 campaign for United Way is set as part of the second annual Taste of Marshall County. The Taste of Marshall County will be Saturday, Aug. 12 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The fundraising event will feature even more selections in the food garden this year and a separate beer and wine garden. Live entertainment will include music from Shots Fired Reloaded and Southern Straightaway.

Those in Marshall County who utilize MyFreeTaxes can file state and federal taxes this year with added security.

Officials with the United Way of Marshall County announce the addition of encryption technology, several layers of authentication and a secure connection to safeguard sensitive information and protect against unauthorized access when utilizing MyFreeTaxes.

United Way of Marshall County Blitz Week

The United Way of Marshall County has a busy week planned. Volunteers will be visiting businesses in the community to distribute information about United Way. They will be in Bremen on Wednesday and in Plymouth on Friday.

The volunteers will be accepting contributions from businesses to go towards the community. United Way of Marshall County Executive Director Linda Yoder says these visits show businesses how United Way can help.

“What we’re doing again is at the very core. We are providing support for agencies all across the county that are providing social services,” said Yoder.
