United Way Works with Restaurants for Fundraising Efforts

A not-for-profit is kicking-off a major fundraising effort starting on Thursday.

The United Way of Marshall County says Dine Out for United Way 2015 will start at Burger King on Michigan Street and Mooney’s Ice Cream in Plymouth. The idea is that the restaurants will donate a portion of their sales that day to the United Way.

The United Way acts as the fundraising arm for non-profits in the Marshall County Community.

Patrons can support funding causes for 24 different non-profits, locally by simply dining at the establishments.

Times have been set for the donation periods. At Burger King, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on October 1st, the fast-food restaurant will give 20% of its sales. Mooney’s Ice Cream will donate 10% of their sales during that same time period.

The United Way of Marshall County has set a campaign goal of $550-thousand this year. They say that by attracting donations, residents can support their goals of providing quality education, employment opportunities, and good health.
