An accident involving a semi tanker-truck and a small passenger car that occurred in the area of U.S. 30 and Beech Road in Marshall County this afternoon resulted in a fatality.
Marshall County Coroner John Grolich stated that the next of kin has been notified and the individual was identified as 62-year old Bourbon resident Velma Shupp.

Road conditions are being blamed for a motorcycle crash near Plymouth Friday morning. Marshall County Police say that around 10:20 a.m., Enrique Cook, 34, of Hammond, was trying to merge onto southbound U.S. 31 from U.S. 30. Officers believe the 2018 Harley Davidson lost traction and ran off the roadway.

Nine vehicles were involved in a chain reaction crash on U.S. 30 in Plymouth Monday evening. Plymouth Police say around 5:10 p.m., a vehicle was heading east on the Michigan Street overpass, when ice caused it to slide into the guardrail and then come to a stop in the roadway. Another vehicle was slowing down, when it was rear-ended by another vehicle, according to officers, setting off a chain reaction.

A North Judson man is dead, after a crash Monday morning in Kosciusko County. Officials with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department say it happened around 6:40 EDT at the intersection of U.S. 30 and 350 West. Witnesses told police that a 2015 Peterbilt semi was trying to turn left onto westbound U.S. 30, when the driver slowed down or stopped in the median. That’s when an eastbound Dodge passenger car reportedly hit the semi.
Starting today, Culver residents and commuters should be prepared for an ongoing road closure on State Road 17.
The Indiana Department of Transportation announced that State Road 17 in Marshall County will be closed between State Road 8 and State Road 10 as crews perform chip sealing operations. A man wanted for auto theft may now face some additional charges, following a traffic stop Sunday night near Bourbon. Marshall County Police say it happened shortly after 9:00 Sunday night in the area of U.S. 30 and State Road 331.
Two people were arrested early Sunday morning, after police say they found about 200 grams of marijuana during a traffic stop near Bourbon. Marshall County Police say they pulled over a 1996 Ford Explorer for speeding, in the area of U.S. 30 and Beech Road.
A Bremen man who was reportedly found hiding under a farm tractor last week was taken to jail for possession of methamphetamine. On the morning of Sunday, November 5, a Marshall County Sheriff’s Deputy says he saw a black Chevy pickup truck parked along U.S. 30, west of Iris Road at around 3:15 a.m. The officer says it was foggy, and the truck didn’t have any lights on, so he stopped to check on it. He says he didn’t find anyone inside, but he did notice “items within the vehicle associated with criminal activity.”
