The Lincoln Junior High School rebuilding project continues to move ahead. Tonight, the Plymouth School Board will decide whether to issue construction documents for bidding. The project would replace much of the existing Lincoln Junior High School with a new building.
John Glenn Summer School Classes to Start Next Week
The first session of summer school for students at the John Glenn School Corporation is set to begin Tuesday, June 6.
According to High School Associate Principal Christopher Winchell, high school students will be able to take online courses through the Indiana Online Academy. Other courses will be offered in a traditional classroom setting including Health, Physical Education, Algebra, Algebra II, US History, World History, Government, Economics, and English. Students will be in the first summer session from Tuesday, June 6 to Friday, June 30 from 8 a.m. to noon. Lunch will be available during the USDA Summer Food program.
Culver Community School Board Discusses Summer School Schedule
The Culver Community School Board discussed the summer school schedule to accommodate those students who will be taking courses.
Elementary Principal Erin Proskey explained that sixth graders will participate in summer school from June 5 to June 16 from 8 a.m. to noon each day. One week will be Math remediation and the other half will be for English/Language Arts. IREAD 3 remediation will be from June 5 to June 9 from 8 a.m. to noon with the test on the last day of summer school.
Culver School Board Approves Intersession, Summer Teachers
The Culver School Board discussed the hire of several teachers during the upcoming intersession and summer school.
Interim Superintendent Chuck Kitchell said two elementary teachers will need to be approved for hire during the intersession which will include four days of instruction. The intersession will be from April 3 to April 6 from 8 a.m. to noon ET.
Culver School Board Approves Summer School Plans
The Culver School Board Monday approved plans for this year’s summer school classes. Students in sixth through eighth grades who need extra help in Math or English/Language Arts will be able to attend classes for four hours each morning from June 7 until June 17. Continue reading

The Plymouth School Board is looking to be cautious about one of its services.
According to the agenda for tonight’s Board of Education meeting, members plan to share information about the summer school programs for the 2015 school year.
