A list of courses and teachers was approved by the school board last week, according to Superintendent Karen Shuman. “We’ll be offering a recovery program at the high school level, along with band and agricultural classes at the high school level, and then doing an IREAD program at the elementary,” she explains.
Shuman says the school board also recognized math teacher John Browder, who’s retiring after 42 years.
In other business last week, board members passed a fund transfer resolution. Shuman says the transfers mainly closed out old accounts that were left over from the previous funding model, which was replaced at the beginning of 2019.
The Plymouth Community School Corporation is making plans for summer school. The school board Tuesday approved a list of proposed high school course offerings for this summer.

Elementary School Assistant Principal Rebecca Cummings presented the John Glenn School Board with the results from students tested at North Liberty Elementary School and Walkerton Elementary School.
The Culver School Board continues to make arrangements for summer school classes. On Monday, board members approved the appointment of Mary James as the summer school teacher for Culver Community Middle/High School. They also gave permission for band director Jason Crittendon to offer a summer band program.
The Culver School Board will continue discussing plans for summer school when it meets tonight. The summer band program, as well as the appointment of a summer school teacher for the middle/high school, will be up for board consideration. Board members approved plans for the elementary school’s IREAD remediation program earlier this month.
The Plymouth School Board has approved the list of this year’s summer school offerings.
