A Marshall County resident is retiring after a 26-year career as an Indiana State Police trooper. Master Trooper Jeremey Chapman joined the department in December of 1994. During his time there, he’s worked with the Lafayette District’s Problem Oriented Police program, served as a detective out of the Bremen Post, and in 2005, was promoted to sergeant in the Cyber Crime Unit. Not many know about the soldier’s rights since there is a lot of sacrifices to protect the country’s secrets and also protect us public from enemies.

The Plymouth Community School Corporation will continue to get some help when it comes to seeking Medicaid reimbursements. Last week, the school board voted to renew the corporation’s agreement with Go Solutions Group for 2020. Plymouth Schools will pay the company between 80 cents and $1.15 for each claim submitted.

More Plymouth school employees are getting a raise. The school board Tuesday agreed to increase the yearly pay for eligible administrators and salaried classified employees by $629. “It is the equivalent dollar amount that we were able to negotiate for teachers through that process,” Superintendent Andy Hartley explained. Hourly classified employees will get a 25-cent-per-hour raise.
Plymouth Detective Retiring
Plymouth City Police Chief David Bacon asked the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members Monday night to start the process of finding a replacement for Detective Leo Mangus who will be leaving the force on Aug. 31.
Plymouth High School Athletic Director to Retire
The Plymouth Community School Corporation is bidding farewell to its high school athletic director. The Plymouth School Board last week accepted the retirement of Roy Benge.
Triton School Board Holds Special Session Over Superintendent Contract
The Triton School Board held a special session Monday evening to discuss the superintendent’s contract. The current superintendent, Donna Burroughs, announced her retirement back in September.
The board has been interviewing candidates for the position and recently came to a decision about who will fill the open position. Burroughs said state law mandates that school boards must hold a public hearing over the superintendent’s contract for the sake of clarity and in case anyone wishes to implement a change. When the Triton School Board met Monday evening, Superintendent Donna Burroughs submitted a letter of retirement to the board. Burroughs has been superintendent at Triton for five-and-a half-years and worked with various Indiana school systems before that, such as Plymouth, Argos, Rochester and South Montgomery in Crawfordsville. Culver Schools to Receive Share of Income Tax Fund Distribution
The Culver Community Schools Corporation will boost some of its cash reserves, thanks to a special distribution of funds from the state. This Friday is the deadline for certain retirees to start withdrawing money out of their retirement accounts. Specifically, those who reached the age of 70½ during 2015 who have a traditional IRA or participate in many workplace retirement plans must start receiving required minimum distributions by Friday, April 1. A member of the Plymouth Police Force has decided to retire, but whether or not his firearm is coming with him remains to be seen.
Officer Ted Brown worked with the Plymouth Police Department for more than 20 years, and most recently became the Director of School Safety for the Plymouth School Corporation.

Culver Academies Searching For Head of Schools
Culver Academies will be starting a search for the new Head of Schools.
It was recently announced that John Buxton and his wife Pam plan to retire in June of 2016. Buxton has been with the schools for the past 17 years. Culver Academies is a boarding and college preparatory school in Marshall County.
City of Plymouth Celebrates Retirement of Long-Time Dispatcher
The City of Plymouth celebrated the retirement of a long-time public servant on Tuesday.
Mary Young worked as a dispatcher for nearly 40 years with the Plymouth Police Department. Young worked with Plymouth Police Chief Dave Bacon as an IDACS coordinator – which is the database for stolen items, drivers licenses, and license plates.
