Driver’s Failure to Yield to Right of Way Causes Collision Wednesday Afternoon

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department responded to a collision at the intersection of Veterans Parkway and US 31 in Plymouth shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

According to a police report, Jason Allen Henderson from South Bend was traveling southbound on the exit ramp for U.S 31 driving a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox.

He was reportedly heading toward the intersection with Veterans Parkway when he failed to stop for the sign and failed to yield to the right of way of a 2011 International Semi Tractor driven by Plymouth resident Mark Zimmerman. Continue reading

Marshall County Patrolman Recognized for Assisting FBI, K9 Officially Introduced

Patrolman Andrew Wozniak and Sheriff Matt Hassel

Marshall County Patrolman Andrew Wozniak and his K9 Partner Irok were recognized by Sheriff Matt Hassel on Thursday.

Officer Wozniak was commended for his efforts in assisting with an FBI investigation last year. Back on September 2nd, 2017, Officer Wozniak initiated a traffic stop on a black 2000 Toyota Solara for a lane violation and improper registration in the area of US 30 and Tulip Road around 3:15 a.m.

While running the driver’s information, Wozniak was alerted that the person could have potentially been on a watch list for suspicious activity in the past. Continue reading

Single Vehicle Crash Sends Bremen Man to the Hospital Tuesday Morning

A single vehicle-accident on Plymouth-Goshen Trail sent a Bremen man to the hospital early Tuesday morning.

According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, around 3:14 a.m. on September 11th, 22-year-old Levi Jacob Schuler was traveling northbound on Plymouth-Goshen Trail when he reportedly lost control and hit a NIPSCO pole, causing damage to the pole and vehicle. Continue reading

Marshall County Police Respond to Auto Theft Call

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department is currently looking into an auto theft incident that occurred in Plymouth.

Around 6:30 p.m. on September 10th, the Marshall County Central Dispatch Center was contacted in reference to a stolen vehicle. According to police, the vehicle was reportedly taken from the 14900 block of 4B Road. It is described as a 1997 Jeep Cherokee Sport that is red in color. Continue reading

Wanted Minnesota Residents Lead Police on Chase through Marshall County

Two Minnesota residents with active warrants reportedly led police on a chase through Marshall County Tuesday evening. It began when a Plymouth Police officer pulled over a car in the 2200 block of North Michigan Street at around 5:15. Police say the driver, Ace Blahoski, 31, of Miltona, Minnesota and the passenger, Jean Kelly, 33, of Willmar, Minnesota both had warrants out of Minnesota.
