The Marshall County Council members considered an additional appropriation request to help fund a part-time security officer at the courthouse and county building when the regular officers are not on duty.
Marshall County Employees to Take Part in Active Shooter Training
Marshall County employees will participate in active shooter training on Friday, Dec. 1.
The county building and courthouse will be closed to the public beginning at 1 p.m. The training is expected to last until 3:30 p.m.
Wayfinding Signs Presented to Plymouth Board of Works
Visitors to the City of Plymouth will soon have some help finding their way around. The city is working with North American Signs to add wayfinding signage along Michigan Street, Oak Drive, Jefferson Street, and other heavily-trafficked areas.
Marshall County Courthouse Art Contest Entries on Display
Five area artists have entered paintings to compete in the Marshall County Courthouse art contest. The winner of this contest will have their painting on permanent display as part of the courthouse collection belonging to the Indiana State Bar Association.
Oil, pastels, watercolor and charcoal were used to make up the artists’ vision of the historic Marshall County structure.
Committee to Look into Courthouse Repairs
Marshall County Commissioner Kurt Garner is looking to form a committee to look into courthouse repairs.
He mentioned to the commissioners this week that work on the courthouse tower and other projects have been on the long range plan for the county. Garner was approached by a representative of Honeywell who would be willing to come in and do calculations on mechanical systems and energy cost savings. Judge Palmer also expressed interest in being on the committee.
