A roofing worker is dead, following an accident at American Containers in Plymouth Wednesday afternoon. Oscar Gallardo Zarate, 46, of Muncie, was tarring the roof of the building, according to Marshall County Coroner John Grolich. Grolich says Gallardo Zarate was apparently walking backwards while mopping the tar, when he stepped on a skylight and fell through to the ground.

Marshall County Coroner Determines Official Cause of Death for Joseph F. Dillard of Plymouth
The official cause of death for 50-year-old Joseph F. Dillard has been ruled as an overdose caused by a combination of drugs, according to Marshall County Coroner John Grolich.
Dillard was found deceased, along with his unresponsive wife Melissa Dillard, at their Plymouth home on West La Porte Street on Saturday, January 27th.
The coroner explained that toxicology tests were conducted the night that Joseph Dillard came in and were then sent to a lab in Pennsylvania for results. He said the results were received earlier this week and showed that a number of drugs were in Dillard’s system. Continue reading
Marshall County Coroner Provides More Details about Fatal Accident on U.S. 30
The name of the driver who was pronounced dead at the scene of a two-vehicle accident on U.S 30 west of Oak Drive in Plymouth has been released. Marshall County Coroner John Grolich reported that 64-year-old James Michael, of Lucerne, suffered from a sudden acute medical emergency which left him unresponsive while behind the wheel of his pick-up truck Tuesday evening. Marshall County Council Approves Additional Appropriation for Coroner
Marshall County Coroner John Grolich approached the Marshall County Council Monday morning with additional appropriation requests totaling $28,000 for his department.
Grolich explained that there has been an increase in autopsies performed this year than what is normally budgeted. He added that it’s difficult to predict how many will be done in a year in order to properly budget money. He said many young people have perished in a number of different circumstances and autopsies are commonly ordered in most cases to determine manner and cause of death. Continue reading
