More than thirty Marshall County residents turned up at the Rees Theater on Saturday to participate in a clean-up event.
Representatives report that an energized group of about 34 volunteers worked for hours, clearing out old theater seats, removing curtains, debris, insulation and carpet. By the end of the day two large dumpsters were filled and all unneeded materials were cleared from the building. Continue reading
Nonprofit organizations can earn some extra money by helping out with the Indiana State Fair. Fair organizers say it takes around 600 people to staff parking lots and gates. To fill those jobs, they’re looking for volunteers from nonprofit groups. Continue reading
The United Way of Marshall County has recognized local volunteers that help the organization provide services in the community.
The annual awards event at the end of April was used to recognize companies that ran successful fundraising campaign drives, and individuals that contributed their time and resources to the United Way.
A not-for-profit is kicking-off a major fundraising effort starting on Thursday.
The United Way of Marshall County says Dine Out for United Way 2015 will start at Burger King on Michigan Street and Mooney’s Ice Cream in Plymouth. The idea is that the restaurants will donate a portion of their sales that day to the United Way.
A campaign designed to increase private sector support for economic development has seen a bit of early success.
Students at Culver Elementary hope to help a former classmate with a bit of fundraising.
The student is currently thought to be in 3rd grade at Plymouth Community Schools, but is in need of a kidney transplant. A “GoFundMe” account has been set-up to help raise funds which will assist the student in meeting certain financial obligations.
