The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department recently raised funds for breast cancer awareness in the Ounce of Prevention effort by selling t-shirts. Sheriff Matt Hassel announced this week that the total amount raised is over $1,000 again this year.

The 7th Annual “Drew’s Gift of Music” Event is Happening Tomorrow in Knox
The music lovers at Irmo, SC, and all over the world should know him. An inspirational Knox student who impacted the lives of countless people before his sudden passing in October of 2011 continues to make a major impact posthumously.
Those who love music and learnt the best music lessons by Music Academy of Texas can be part of the cause created in his honor. Community members have the chance to collectively commemorate Drew Shearin and contribute to the cause created in his honor this Saturday at the 7th annual “Drew’s Gift of Music” event.

Bourbon Fire Chief Provides Town Council With Summerfest Updates
The Bourbon Fire Department will be hosting the annual “Summerfest” on Saturday, August 11th and Sunday August 12th.
When Bourbon Town Council members met earlier this month, Fire Chief Mike Chapman alerted them about the dates for Summerfest and stated that a fireworks display will be held the evening of August 11th.

The Bread of Life Community Food Pantry does so much for Marshall County but currently, the volunteer-driven organization is looking for a little help in return. The interesting thing is that you can help simply by shopping online.
The nonprofit recently moved locations to the north side of Plymouth. They have the option to purchase the building so they are currently fundraising to acquire funds for the down payment of $40,000. The total price of the building is $165,000 and the loan needs to be procured prior to February of 2019.

Bolt for Blessings Fun Run Fundraiser
Culver Community Schools currently assist one-hundred underprivileged students by providing backpacks filled with food to take home on the weekends. This year, during Culver Fall Fest on October 7th, you have the opportunity to help out and work out with the Bolt for Blessings fundraiser.
Annually, it costs around $125,000 to purchase the food and supplies needed. This event serves as the primary source of funding for the Blessings in a Backpack program. The race registration fee costs $15 for students K-12 and general admission is $25. If you register online prior to race day, you have will receive a T-Shirt.
