The Culver Town Council approved the first reading of an ordinance that amends ambulance rates.
The ordinance outlines a 20 percent increase in Advanced Life Support Level 2 involving paramedic duties to $1,020, Advanced Life Support Level 1 involving duties of advanced EMTs to $660, and Basic Life Support to $540.
Advanced Life Support treatment with no transport would be $150, Basic Life Support treatment with no transport would be $50 or at the discretion of the EMS Director, and miles would be determined at $12.50 per loaded mile.
The second reading and adoption of the ordinance will follow advertisement of the rates.

The department recently purchased a new ambulance and the service recently upgraded to paramedic status. Those attending the open house will learn more about those services as well as receive free blood pressure and glucose checks.
Culver EMS to Hold Open House
The staff at the Culver-Union Township EMS invites residents to an open house on Tuesday, Oct. 24 to celebrate the recent upgrade in paramedic status and the purchase of a new ambulance.
EMS Director Kathy Hart told the Culver Town Council recently that the department reached paramedic status which allows many more options of emergency care.
Culver-Union Township EMS to Hire More Staff
The Culver-Union Township EMS Department is available for growth.
During her report to the Culver Town Council this week, EMS Director Kathy Hart said that she has interviewed four candidates for two open part-time positions, but she was hoping that she could build the personnel pool. She had not filled those positions at the time of the council meeting on Monday.
Culver Council Approves Ambulance Purchase
