The state of Indiana is moving to a system called “Odyssey” that will allow information sharing across the state’s courts. That largely renders Marshall County’s current provider CSI obsolete. Community Corrections Executive Director Ward Byers says the new software will likely prove easier to use.

A Plymouth woman was sentenced on Wednesday after she pleaded guilty to charges stemming from her alleged attempts to drown her six-year-old daughter.

A Plymouth man was sentenced to 12 years in prison on Wednesday for his alleged involvement in a 2015 stabbing.

A Knox man was sentenced on Wednesday in Marshall County Superior Court on charges of dealing methamphetamine.
33-year-old Ryan Smith was arrested in August of 2015 after a vehicle he was in was stopped by Marshall County Sheriff’s Deputies. An air sniff was conducted by a K9 Unit and indicated the presence of drugs inside the vehicle.
Marshall County Special Prosecutor Nelson Chipman showed a Youtube video during his Monday press conference explaining multiple felony counts against Kevin Bronson that can only be described as telling his back story.
Bronson is allegedly intertwined with Kosciusko County Sheriff Aaron Rovenstine in a bribery and intimidation case.

An Argos man was sentenced on Wednesday to 30 years in the Indiana Department of Corrections following an investigation for child sex crimes.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department will be getting an upgrade to some equipment used to interview possible suspects.
During Monday morning’s County Commissioners meeting, Sheriff Matt Hassel and Prosecutor Nelson Chipman presented information about the upgrades. Currently, the system used by Marshall County to interview individuals associated with crimes relies on the use of cameras.

A Plymouth woman set to be sentenced Wednesday in Marshall County Superior Court has seen her murder charges dropped.
24-year-old Kristi Lavanway was arrested earlier this year after she is accused of failing to get her 2-year-old daughter, Serenity Wilson, medical care.
Additional charges have been filed against a Plymouth woman accused of involvement in the death of her two-year-old daughter.
Serenity Wilson was pronounced dead in late September after receiving hours of intensive medical care at a Fort Wayne hospital. Investigators determined her death was the result of blunt force trauma.
A Bourbon man was sentenced Thursday on charges that he manufactured methamphetamine at a Plymouth address.
Shane Weedling and Krysti Lavanway made an initial appearance in Marshall County Court on Tuesday.
The partner in a case that occurred in November of last year was sentenced on Wednesday in Marshall County Superior Court.
30-year-old Richard Gee, formerly of South Bend, is alleged to have entered a home with the purpose of manufacturing methamphetamine. His partner in the case was sentenced earlier in the year.
A Culver man was sentenced on Wednesday after pleading guilty to a charge of Reckless Homicide.
54-year-old Jon McFarland was charged following a Grand Jury indictment from December of 2014. It alleges that on October 12th of that year, McFarland was a driver in an automobile crash that occurred at the intersection of U.S. 31 and State Road 10 near Argos.
An investigation is continuing into the death of 2-year-old Serenity Wilson.
That’s according to Marshall County Prosecutor Nelson Chipman who spoke to members of the press Wednesday morning at the Marshall County Building. Wilson was pronounced dead at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne over the weekend after receiving intensive care for 27 hours.
