Culver is attempting to improve its downtown area, but they’re asking for more volunteers to help with the process.
The Town is engaged in discussions with representatives from the state’s Indiana Main Street Program. It’s designed to enhance economic development and revitalization of downtown areas in communities across the state.
Culver will take another crack at changing the way it imposes permit fees on local construction and renovation projects.
Culver Town Manager Jonathan Leist says the Town’s Plan Commission has scheduled a public hearing for a new proposal on December 15th.

Work to at least one sign in Plymouth welcoming visitors to the city has been completed.
The Plymouth Board of Works approved a sign to be placed in the roundabout at Michigan Road and Veteran’s Parkway earlier this year. The goal was to improve the look of the community while greeting those traveling to the area.

Indiana’s Senate Democrats are gearing up for the 2015 summer study committees.
Among the topics is replacing ISTEP with a new state standardized educational assessment. Typically the summer study sessions indicate some of the top issues legislators may consider in the next legislative session.
