Bourbon Town Council Approves Plan Commission/Zoning Contract

The Bourbon Town Council recently approved 2-1 the Plan Commission / Zoning Contract with Chuck DeWitt for a period of six months. Vice President Les McFarland and Councilman Terry Clemens approved; President Ward Byers voted against. McFarland said that he thought the communication has improved, but he wanted to evaluate again in six months. Clemens echoed the improvement in communication and agreed with the six month reevaluation.

Argos Town Council Informed Of Existing Zoning Rule That Downtown Building Owners are Currently Violating

Marshall County Building Administrator Chuck Dewitt recently informed Argos Town Council members of an existing zoning rule that isn’t being followed by some downtown building owners. Earlier this year, the Town of Argos entered into an intergovernmental agreement with Dewitt who has been assisting with various zoning and planning matters ever since. Continue reading

Building Commissioner Chuck Dewitt Informs Argos Town Council of Variance Procedure

The Argos Town Council recently entered into an agreement with Marshall County Building Commissioner Chuck Dewitt for planning and zoning assistance. According to Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney, his help is already paying off.

“We kind of hired Chuck Dewitt as an advisor to our plan commission and board of zoning to help us better understand some of the things that needed to be done.” Mullaney explained, “Matters would be heard before the town council that we not have realized were a zoning issue or a plan commission issue and they’re now correcting that.” Continue reading
