Time is Running Out to Register to Vote in the Primary Election
Those hoping to have a say in the May primary election must register by Monday, April 9th!
The Indiana Secretary of State’s Office issued a reminder stating that in order to be eligible to vote, you must be a citizen of the United States who is at least 18-years-old on the day of the next general, municipal or special election. Continue reading
BMV Branches to Close for Holidays
If you need to conduct business at your local BMV branch, you may want to get it done as soon as possible as the branches will be open limited hours between today and Tuesday, Jan. 2.
All branches of the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles will be closed Saturday, Dec. 23 through Tuesday, Dec. 26. Branches will open again on Wednesday, Dec. 27, but will close again on Saturday, Dec. 30 and will reopen on Tuesday, Jan 2.
BMV Closures in November
If you have any business to conduct at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles during the month of November you’ll want to tend to that as soon as possible. BMV locations will be closed intermittently for the remainder of the month.
This Friday and Saturday, all locations will be closed in observance of Veteran’s Day. Later in the month, all branches will be closed for Thanksgiving on Thursday, November, 23rd and the following day for Lincoln’s birthday. Continue reading
Indiana BMV Branches to Close for Memorial Day Holiday
Any transactions that require a visit to a Bureau of Motor Vehicles branch need to be done before the Memorial Day weekend.
All BMV branches will be closed from Saturday, May 27 through Monday, May 29 in observance of Memorial Day.
Branches will reopen with regular business hours on Tuesday, May 30.
BMV Changes Hours to Accommodate Voters in Need of an ID
The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles will be extending their hours early next week to allow residents a chance to receive identification that can be used at the polling place.

Organ & Tissue Donations Needed Daily
There are more than 100,000 people in the United States alone waiting for an organ transplant. There are even more than that awaiting donated tissue. There are more than 6,000 lives lost annually waiting for a transplants due to the lack of tissue and organ donations. Some BMV Branches to Changes Hours for Primary Elections
The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles will be changing their hours slightly, next week.
According to BMV Commissioner Kent Abernathy, branches located in counties with elections in May will extend their hours on Monday and Tuesday. The extended hours will allow the BMV to issue driver’s licenses and state ID cards that can be used for identification at polling sites.
Many Offices Closed in Observance of Good Friday
If you have business to conduct with a government body tomorrow, you may want to phone first. Marshall County government offices are closed in observance of Good Friday. Indiana is one of 13 states that give employees the day off. BMV offices that are normally open on Fridays will be closed. Normal business hours will resume on Saturday. Mail will be delivered on Friday, and federal government offices will be open.

BMV Reinstatement Relief Program Set to Expire
Hoosiers with suspended drivers licenses have one more day to take advantage of the BMV’s Reinstatement Relief Program. It offers a 50 percent discount to those who qualify on reinstatement fees obtained before July 1, 2013 for operating a vehicle without insurance. The program began in July of 2014, and more than 14,300 customers have paid back more than $3.1 million in reinstatement fees since. Customers may login or create a myBMV.com account to check their eligibility. Reinstatement fees cannot be paid at license branches. Continue reading

Check for Excise Tax Eligibility on the BMV Website
You can check to see if you are eligible for an Excise Tax refund on the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicle’s website.
BMV Commissioner Don Snemis said letters have been sent to those who are eligible but in case you didn’t receive a claim form, access the refund eligibility page at www.myBMV.com. A “Check Your Excise Tax Refund Eligibility” icon can be found on the right side of the page and users will be asked for a Social Security Number or Driver’s License Number in order to check eligibility.
