The Plymouth Community School Corporation (PCSC) Board of Directors appointed and welcomed new Lincoln Junior High Assistant Principal Abigail Travis and welcomed new Riverside School Counselor Tara Miller during the June meeting.
The John Glenn School Board members took time this week to honor the life of Richard “Dick” Reese who was a former student, educator and corporation superintendent at John Glenn School Corporation.

MARSHALL COUNTY — The Marshall County Holding Corporation held their annual meeting Monday. The board approved new member Marty Oosterbaan to fill a vacancy. The board approved the continuation of each office holder with President Carol Brown, new member and Vice President Oosterbaan, and Secretary – Treasurer Kent Borggren.
Area schools have partnered with the USDA to offer free summer meals to children 18 years of age and younger, while adult meals will be offered for purchase.
Midwest Maintenance Project Manager Jamie Giguere and Foreman Jerry Hazeltine gave the Marshall County Commissioners an update Monday morning on the Courthouse Clocktower Renovation project.
The Marshall County Health Department will no longer be able to administer PCR tests at the testing site located behind Lifeplex at 2855 Miller Drive in Plymouth as of June 29 of this year.
A resurfacing project is underway on U.S. 30 between State Road 17 (Michigan Road) and State Road 19 in Marshall County. The project will continue through late October.
The Plymouth Community School Board will meet tonight where they will discuss an extension of the Return to In-Person Learning Plan for the 2022-2023 school year. This plan addresses how the school district will maintain student and staff health and safety and how it will ensure continuity of services for academic and social-emotional needs, as well as how it meets guidance from health officials to the greatest extent possible.
The John Glenn School Board will consider several purchases over $25,000 including a new dishwasher, kitchen equipment and classroom furniture when the board meets tonight.
A Rochester business went on lockdown Sunday due to a reported armed domestic dispute nearby, but an alleged report of an active shooter at the business caused police to force entry into the store.
Officials from Midwest Maintenance will give the Marshall County Commissioners an update on the progress of renovations on the Clocktower and the courthouse when the commissioners meet this morning.
The Culver Community School Board will hold a work session at 5 p.m. ET tonight to interview prospective appointees to the school board. The person eventually chosen will take the place of Karen Lee who vacated the seat in May. The board members are expected to make a decision during their regular meeting following the work session.
