The driver in a single-vehicle crash on Sunday in Marshall County has been listed in stable but critical condition.
The incident occurred just before 5:30 a.m. on May 1st when an off-duty South Bend firefighter medic noticed a vehicle off the south side of Veterans Parkway at U.S. 31.



An Etna Green man faces a felony charge in connection with a Friday night incident in Bourbon. Officers from the town police department responded to a report of gunshots in the area of 103 East Pine Street around 11:45 p.m., according to the incident report. They discovered the residence had been vandalized and shot at by people who were no longer in the area.
Voters in the Argos Community Schools district will decide on additional school funding today. A referendum asks voters to consider a property tax levy increase to as much as 61-cents per $100 of assessed valuation.
The results of today’s Argos school funding referendum could have an effect on the Culver Community Schools Corporation. Argos school officials have said that if the proposal to raise the property tax levy fails, the corporation would be forced to find ways to consolidate with other local school districts.
