Washington Discovery Academy Students to Host Color Run, Learn Perseverance

Plymouth School CorporationGet healthy and support a good cause. Third graders at the Washington Discovery Academy will be learning about perseverance and about giving back during their first ever 5K Color Run. The event will be hosted May 14th and is open to all members of the community.

According to information provided by the Plymouth School Corporation, students in the third grade have been busy making t-shirts with inspiring messages on them for those running the race.

Students aren’t just organizing the event. They have also been challenged with the task of running the race. Third graders have been practicing and have been tracking their progress as part of the lessons.

There is a modest fee for entering the Color Run, the proceeds of which will be donated to the development of Freedom Park in Plymouth.

For runners interested in following the student’s progress planning for the race, a Facebook page has been developed containing information about the event.
