Culver Work Session May Extend Sidewalk Snow Removal to Commercial District
The Town of Culver may consider snow removal from the sidewalks of some commercial businesses in the near future.
Business representatives asked the Town to consider implementing the service after it was noticed that the downtown merchants often scoop their sidewalks at different points in the day. The inconsistent snow can obstruct pedestrian traffic.

Budget Transfer Policy Enacted by Marshall County Council
An issue that surfaced at the end of December was brought back up by the Marshall County Council, this week.
Several department heads attended the meeting to seek clarification on exactly how budget transfers between major categories are approved. Budgetary line items are required by the state of Indiana to remain in the black.

Culver’s Second Permit Fee Attempt Receives Better Reaction
A revised plan to issue permit fees has received an initial nod from the Culver Town Council.

Vote Centers Ready to Move into Planning Phase in Marshall County

The idea is to reduce the number of polling sites, but to allow registered voters to cast the proper ballot from any of the locations based on a state identification. Marshall County has already purchased e-poll books to aid in the process.

Marshall County Tax Bill Preparation Soon to be Outsourced
The Marshall County Treasurer’s office is looking to save on time and on resources when it comes to tax bill preparation.
For the past 15 years or so, the Treasurer’s office has printed property tax bills in-house. Marshall County Treasurer Penny Lukenbill requested Monday morning that the preparation methods be changed to contract with an outside company.
